I enjoyed that immensely! SO, that was the 2nd to last Det to Oki, correct? I gotta brain fart here, but I think it was Det Bravo that was the last. That is the one I was on. Greg, that's cool. Yea I saw where they got the two Mike's mixed up. You guys did a great job, and this is great to have it here for posterity too!
The reason I was not on that Det is because I joined the squadron on '89 and was on that OKI Det like in about 4 months of being in the squadron, and six months of coming off an Iwakuni Det. Then when we returned was on the Desert Shield/Storm Det, which was about 4 months stateside, and when I returned I said I needed a break from pumps. It was only 8 months stateside when I did Det.Bravo, the Last Oki Det.
No wonder I am divorced, huh? I did a total of 10 pumps in 22 years, from 1 year to Six months each...gotta love it! And who knows just how many stateside Dets to Yuma, Fallon NV, Alaska, etc. Way too many for me to remember!
But I do see most who were on that Det, just got back from Desert Sheild/Storm as well! We sure got our share of deployments now, didn't we?
Damn I look good...getting the Navy Achievement Medal. A lot of people dont know this but Cpl Stark and I went to boot camp together and we both got the medal together...
